Free Internet Apps (UPDATE)

Facebook's Internet.org is Improving African Internet Access in Kenya

Internet.org's app is now improving African Internet access by moving into Kenya, its third country. After launching in Zambia in July 2013, the app offered free access to Facebook and other online services in Tanzania two weeks ago and is in Kenya now as well.

The Internet.org app provides free data access to resources and other information. The non-profit organization was established by Facebook last year in an effort to improve African Internet access. Facebook is working with different telecom and tech companies through Internet.org to offer those in developing countries the ability to access certain services from their mobile phone for free.

In partnership with Airtel, Kenyan customers can access communication, information and news services like AccuWeather, BBC News, BBC Swahili, BabyCenter & MAMA, Facebook Messenger, UNICEF Ebola Information, Wikipedia and more.
