The International Contemporary Furniture Fair always produces innovative thinking, but Sara Ebert turned heads with her sleeve lamp.
The sleeve lamp is made of sweater sleeves as well as juice bottles. Definitely something someone could try out themselves, it's a colorful and cheap way to light up a room.
Leave it to the furniture fair to show such great eco design.
Implications - The concept of Ebert's lamp comes from the Design for a Dollar competition that's the brainchild of Professor Mark Goetz. Part of the challenge was to have students design something in which the budget is extremely limited. Ebert's use of sleeves from the Salvation Army and the recycled juice box shows that she understood the assignment well and brilliantly executed it.
