A Chinese Company Constructed Ten 3D-Printed Homes In Less Than 24 Hours

Chinese firm WinSun Decoration Design Engineering showed off its 3D-printing and architectural prowess by constructing a set of ten single-storey 3D-printed homes in less than 24 hours. While construction may have taken less than a day, the company's custom-built 3D printed took all of twelve years to develop. Measuring 10 meters by 6.6 meters, the 3D printer forged together the homes in prefab panels that were attached on site.

Each house cost only $5,000 to build, and was constructed using a cement-based mixture and making use of glass fiber and construction waste. The houses are all designed to accommodate electrical wiring, insulation and plumbing, all of which are added post-construction.

This project is a great example of how construction needn't damage the environment or homeowners' pocketbooks.
