Tokyo-based diner Fab Cafe has come up with one of the best waiting room entertainment strategies I have yet to hear; customers who are waiting to get a table at the diner can are enabled to get 3D printed gummy candies in their image.
Currently it seems as though business are taking full advantage of the 3D printing technology's novelty factor while it lasts.
Although this wait room strategy may not be too effective in 5 years, I know I would certainly hit Fab Cafe and hope that there's a line-up to get a table if I was in Japan.
The gummy men make for delicious souvenirs and effective conversation starters. Fab Cafe is hitting the nail on the head with their strategic marketing.
