Collaboratively Designed Combat Boots

Yohji Yamamoto & Dr. Martens Joined to Update the 1490 Boot

Yohji Yamamoto, a Japanese fashion designer based out of Tokyo, recently collaborated with British footwear and clothing label Dr. Martens to come up with a fresh take on the classic high-top 1490 Boot.

The boots maintain the same punk-inspired militaristic aesthetic that they're so widely celebrated for, only with a few modern twists. To help consumers stay comfortable, Yohji Yamamoto and Dr. Martens outfitted the 1490 Boots with "Cubeflex technology in the sole," which makes it incredibly flexible. The uppers of the 1490 Boots are made from a durable black leather material, which is accented with bright yellow stitching that goes around the midsoles, the heel, as well as around the laces. At the top of the boots is Yohji Yamamoto's signature.
