Upcycled Wooden Stools

These Stylish Stools are Made Out of Old Ventilator Fans and Scrap Wire

Hong Kong-based 'KaCaMa Design Lab' produced a series of stylish bar stools that are made from scrap wire and old ventilator fans. Although the idea of using recycled materials is nothing new, these stools are made from unorthodox parts.

The 'Stool ZERO' collection features a series of handmade stools crafted from recycled materials. The seat of each stool is handwoven from plastic wire casings, which were taken from old ventilator fans. These fans were sourced from a local reycling center and then the copper was removed so that it could be reused elsewhere. The plastic casings provide cushioning as well as a decorative pattern for the seat. The legs of the stools are made from wood, which provides an interesting contrast to the brightly-colored seats.

The Stool ZERO collection demonstrates how unorthodox materials can be put to new use in interesting ways.
