Red Cross Solar Water Pumps Could Save Sudanese Lives

These Red Cross solar water pumps are the next best hope that the humanitarian organization has for helping to combat the critical lack of clean water access that thousands of people in the Sudan suffer from every day.

In this aim, the Red Cross has erected a large series of water pumps in the small town of Akobo that will pull water from deep in the ground and deposit it in large tanks which can then distribute it to public distribution centers. The last piece of the puzzle are the solar panels themselves, which are already en route from Germany. If everything goes to plan, the Red Cross solar water pumps system will be fully operational by late March.
