“The Obliteration Room” is a Childs Ball Pit Fantasy

"The Obliteration Room" is a stunning installation created by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, who is well known for her interactive displays as well as signature dots.

The installation itself began as a blank living space, including furniture to match. Over the course of two weeks children who visited Kusama’s exhibition were given brightly coloured stickers and then set loose upon the installation.

The concept itself is quite simple, yet the result is spontaneous and is sure to bring a smile to your face.

For those of you who would like to unleash their inner child, Kusama’s installation "The Obliteration Room" can be seen at Queensland Gallery of Modern Art as part of her interactive exhibition entitled Look Now, See Forever.

Check out the pictures, and step inside Kusama’s colourful world.
