Plastic Fantastic Masterpieces

Jerry Ross Barrish's Garbage-Loving Hobby Fuels Cool Creations

All you need is a basic glue gun, some discarded plastic and some creative juices to unleash the boundless possibilities of the plastic arts. Jerry Ross Barrish has spent hundreds of hours creating creatures out of plastic, and although what he does is undoubtedly artistic, he still doesn’t consider it as ‘art.’

Wired.com interviewed the man behind the plastic stating that "[Jerry Ross Barrish] saw garbage on the beach in Pacifica, California, and thought he would make a Christmas tree out of the plastic. So he started to accumulate materials for the Christmas tree." From that point on, his hobby grew and grew until it became a plastic arts empire.
