Printer Paper Scultpures

Peter Callesen's Scherenschnitte

There’s only so much you can do with an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper, right? As Peter Callesen proves to us with his amazing paper sculptures, the previous statement is just plain wrong. To Callesen, the possibilities of a single sheet of paper are literally limitless. Applying loads of talent and some scissor slices, he is able to turn everyday printer paper into unbelievable art.

Peter’s art is truly unique, and it’s two-fold. Not only does he carefully slice out shapes and ideas (think Scherenschnitte,) but he also then bends and creases the paper into castles, towers, animals and flowers. Since first discovering his hidden talent, Peter has been asked to work with larger and larger sheets of paper, and his success is huge. Snag a peek at some of the incredible pics of Pete’s art and you’ll never think of paper the same way again.
