Vertical Farms for Animals

Paington Zoo Environmental Park to House VertiCrop Garden

Paington Zoo Environmental Park is set to house Europe’s first vertical farm.

The VertiCrop Garden will grow fresh crops to help feed the zoo animals and will reduce food deliveries to Paington Zoo. The farm will have vertical panels that will be hung from a conveyor system that will provide all the necessary water and nutrients for the plants and crops.

VertiCrop will use no pesticides and will also be able to dramatically reduce the use of water in a traditional garden.
