Easyjet Announced It Will Offer Customers Net-Zero Carbon Flights

British low-cost airline EasyJet recently announced it will be the first airline company to offer customers net-zero carbon flights. It accomplished this feat through various carbon offsetting programs including renewable solar energy projects in India, forest conservation efforts in Africa and South America, and other community-based projects around the globe.

CEO Johan Lundgren highlighted that the company acknowledges "that offsetting is only an interim measure until other technologies become available to radically reduce the carbon emissions of flying, but we want to take action on carbon now." The net-zero carbon flights are aligned with consumers shifting desires for eco-friendly products and services. We can expect to see other aviation companies to follow EasyJet's sustainable lead.
