Pollution Pods by Michael Pinksy Recreate Contaminated Cities

Social activist and renowned artist Michael Pinksy created the Pollution Pods -- his latest art installation that acquaints visitors with all of the pollution from around the world.

Located outside of London's Somerset House, the artist built and recreated environments from the most contaminated cities from around the globe within five geodesic domes. The first of the five pods simulates the crisp and pure air of Tautra Island, Norway. Each guest will travel throughout the exhibit to experience the changing atmospheres, replicating the ruined conditions found in Sao Paulo, Beijing, London and New Delhi. Finishing off the piece, the artist found a way to duplicate the smell and visual sensation of the scent of Living Diesel for an authentic experience.

The Pollution Pods from Michael Pinksy were commisioned by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology to raise awareness about eminent climate change.
