Jonathan Liow's Solarball Cleans Water Through Evaporation

Jonathan Liow is attempting to make it easier to purify water worldwide with the Solarball. Liow's Solarball is a water purifier that uses evaporation to purify dirty water.

Over 900 million people don't have access to clean water; this is far too high. Liow's Solarball aims to give these people a helping hand by making the process of purifying water easier than ever before. To use the Solarball, simply fill it up with dirty water and let nature do the rest. The Solarball uses evaporation to purify the water inside, separating contaminants and leaving up to three liters of drinkable condensation.

Liow's Solarball was recently named as a finalist for the 2011 Australian Design Awards - James Dyson Award and is set to be exhibited at the upcoming Milan International Design Fair.
