Upcycled Coastal Holiday Decorations

The Town of La Oliva Has Turned Waste into Decorations

In order to reverse the excessive consumerism that occurs over the holiday season, architect Fernando Menis is attempting to promote products which are made entirely from recycled materials from the coastal town of La Oliva.

After collecting the excess waste such as colorful buckets and abandoned surfboards that were left during the summer months, the architect designed a series of colorful lights, that serve as beautiful Christmas decorations. The Christmas lights are intended to decorate the area while maintaining the town's coastal vibes by incorporating whimsical themes of the sea.

The lights are planned to decorate La Oliva this holiday season, encouraging the idea of upcycled gift giving, while promoting a community initiative, as participation from the locals is required to collect the discarded waste.
