Konoike Plays on Shattered Crystalline Reflections in Latest Installation

In her current and first ever exhibition in America, Japanese artist Tomoko Konoike takes her project, Shattered Reflections and explores the "crystalline structures in sculptures and drawings." She draws inspiration from pop culture, manga and Japanese animism and creates incredibly beautiful and surreal pieces of art that are rarely seen in today's art world.

In her latest installation, she incorporates glass and mirrors. She plays with light reflections and refractions, creating beautiful and sparkly masterpieces. Set against a white backdrop, the pieces are displayed in separate rooms and the result is a magnificent art installation as the entire room itself becomes an art piece. Light bounces off the artworks and the reflections engulf the entire room, geometric patterns of light bounces off from the installation onto the walls.
