This Giant Duck-Shaped Installation Harvests Solar Energy to Create Power

Energy Duck is a giant duck that doubles as a floating solar energy-harvesting installation. It was created for the 2014 Land Art Generator Initiative Copenhagen competition. The structure is capable of generating clean electricity for Copenhagen's populace, while also providing them with a unique attraction to visit.

This giant duck is covered in photovoltaic panels that enable it to harvest solar energy from every inch of its exterior shell. It is also equipped with hydro turbines which utilize water pressure to provide stored energy to the electricity grid after sunset.

When energy extracted by the duck needs to be delivered, the duck is flooded with water through hydro turbines to generate electricity, which is then transmitted to the national grid.
