Energy-Directing Installations

Nissan's Energy Storage System Sends Battery Power to Data Centers

Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has teamed up with internationally renowned power management company Eaton to develop a high-tech and exceptionally efficient energy storage system that is designed to make it easier than ever for users of Nissan vehicles to squeeze the absolute maximum performance and juice out of their Nissan Leaf batteries whilst also directing any leftover power to data centers.

This innovative energy storage system is being used at the Webaxys data center in the Normandy region of France. Its installation marks a brave new era in the area of innovative energy use as it proves that energy initially intended to be used for automotive applications can absolutely be stored and then redirected to other uses to prevent waste and boost efficiency. This is crucial given that as much as 2 percent of the world's electricity is estimated to be used by data centers.
