Dow and Mengniu Debut a New Monomaterial PE Yogurt Pouch in China

Dow and Mengniu, a prominent dairy enterprise in China, have introduced a mono-material polyethylene (PE) yogurt pouch. By using Dow's INNATE TF-BOPE resins, Mengniu has created the pouch, enabling it to harness the potential of bi-axially oriented production techniques.

The new yogurt pouch design was created to help bolster the principles of a circular economy within China. It will make its debut at the forthcoming 2023 International Dairy Forum, scheduled from August 4th to 7th in Hohhot, located in Northern China.

"This collaboration is a significant step in facilitating recyclability and empowering the possibilities for recycled packaging to be transformed into high-value applications through responsible disposal and appropriate recycling process, reducing our industry’s reliance on non-renewable resources," said Bambang Candra, Asia Pacific commercial vice president of Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics.
