Dezeen Helps Launch the Samsung Out of the Box Competition

Dezeen and Samsung team up for a global contest that encourages people to embark on their own DIY cardboard home projects during COVID-19. Open for entries until May 29th, 2020, the contest will prove to be a good and creative way to pass the time while quarantined at home.

The initiative is titled the 'Samsung Out of the Box Competition' and the total prize money adds up to $20,000. The most innovative DIY cardboard home project will receive $10,000, with the runner up gaining $5,000, third place winning $3,000, and $1,000 for fourth and fifth places each.

The competition takes inspiration from Samsung's eco-packaging--an honouree of the 2020 CES Innovation Awards. It has proven to be flexible in terms of design.
