Burning Man; an annual event held in the Black Rock Desert, in Northern Nevada. It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy on Saturday evening.
With a definition such as the one above, it hardly seems out of the ordinary that the Burning Man festival would revolve around radical self-expression, self-reliance, and community.
The wackier the attire the better, for the festival that attracts followers of odd art movements such as Dadaism and situation performance art.
The entire festival includes 24 hour DJs, a barter system, and exhibitions by some of the more than 43,000 participants the festival attracts.
