Terrorist-Proof Toilets

Russia Set to Debut Bombproof Public Bathrooms by the End of the Year

Russia is the first country developing the world's first bombproof public toilets. The toilets will be made out of steel and reinforced plastic and mounted to floors in reinforced concrete.

Russia may not seem like a country that needs bombproof public toilets, but it wasn't so long ago that a young man blew himself up in a Russian airport terminal, killing himself and 37 others. Due to the various ethnic tensions and civil war within Chechnya, installing bombproof public toilets doesn't sound like a bad idea.

The toilets are not all business however, as they will provide a respite from the notoriously cold Russian winter, besing heated to a toasty 61 degrees. Users of the toilets will only have a limited amount of time to enjoy the warmth as an alarm will sound after someone has been inside longer than 30 minutes. Now that's what I call security.
