YouTuber Basami Sentaku has created a harmonica that uses the sound chip from an NES. The result is an instrument that lets you jam out to the sounds of classic 8-bit video games. While you can't exactly play the intro to "Piano Man" on this harmonica, you can recreate the coin sound effect from "Super Mario Bros."
The 8-bit Harmonica is technically not the first NES-inspired instrument, nor is it the first NES-inspired harmonica. Still, the cartridge harmonicas in the past have been designed not to play game sounds but music. The 8-bit Harmonica stays true to its name, playing only sounds from a bygone era of gaming.
