The future of 3D-printed housing is extending itself to the commercial market and the first token of these homes is expected to be available to the public by 2019. The initative is conducted in collaboration between the Eindhoven University of Technology and local studio Houben & Van Mierlo Architecten. In partnership with real-estate firm Vesteda, this innovation-forward 3D-printed housing project will surely redefine the way people search for and select their homes.
The prototypes of the living abodes feature gently "curved walls with balcony recesses, [as well as] deep-set windows and doors." Defined as "menhir-like," the 3D-printed housing initative will see the buildings produced in succession, in order to maximize the knowledge extracted from practical experience.
