# Animalistic Astrology Artwork Katy Smail's Zodiac Act Consists of Cute Illustrations of Star Signs By Alyson Wyers | Published 2015-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zodiac-art References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/372066/Lovely-Illustrations-Feature-The-12-Zodiac-Signs-As-Animals-With-Flower-Crowns/) & [kateryaninc](http://www.kateryaninc.com/artists/KATY%20SMAIL/Zodiac) Katy Smail's vibrant zodiac art features charming drawings of different animals representing each astrological sign wearing flower crowns. The Scottish artist used bright and cheerful colors in her illustrations, giving each zodiac sign a certain whimsy and quaint feel overall. While some of the illustrations clearly represent the sign (like a lion for leo, crab for cancer, bull for taurus), others take creative liberties. For example, sagittarius is drawn as a horse instead of a centaur or archer. Libra is illustrated as an owl in the zodiac art where as virgo appears to be a peacock or generously plumed bird. The illustrations indicate a continued interest in astrology as well as a whimsical and enchanting style. These images could easily be used as decorative prints and home decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Astrology Artwork:** Creating astrology-inspired art and illustrations using vibrant colors and whimsical style. - **Animal Representation:** Using animals to symbolize and represent astrological signs in art and design. - **Decorative Prints:** Designing illustrations suitable for decorative prints and home decor with astrology themes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists and designers to create astrology-inspired artwork and illustrations for commercial purposes. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor industry to offer decorative prints and products featuring astrology-themed designs. - **Astrology Products:** Opportunity to develop and market astrology-related merchandise like printed maps, clothing, and accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Colorful Zodiac Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anthropologies-zodiac-candle-collection.md) - [Astrological Drinkware Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zodiac-constellation-coasters.md) - [Lunar Zodiac-Inspired Jewelry Charms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zodiac-charms.md) - [Zodiac-Assigned Furniture Items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astrology-furniture.md) - [Zodiac Perfume Palettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zodiac-perfume.md) - [Aromatic Astrology Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astrology-candles.md) - [Astrology-Themed Chocolate Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zodiac-chocolate.md) - [Astrology-Aligned Cosmetics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maya-jama-x-rimmel.md) - [Astrology-Inspired Wines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astrology-inspired-wine.md)
