The chair is constructed with a metal frame that's wrapped tightly with a [tensile fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shrinx-lounge-chair) to give it an almost hammock-like finish. The chair allows the sitter to fully sink into the seat and rock lightly to give it a truly relaxing form that's suitable for modern and/or compact homes. The 'ZHE' rocking chair is designed in white and black color options to further enhance its minimalist nature with a soothing sage green option also in the mix. The chair is the winner of the Red Dot Design Concept Award for 2022. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hammock-inspired Furniture:** Design furniture that takes inspiration from the comfort and support of a hammock. - **Minimalist Rocking Chairs:** Create rocking chairs that are designed with a minimalist and modern aesthetic in mind. - **Tensile Fabric Furniture:** Design furniture that incorporates tensile fabric in order to create a lightweight and airy finished product. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Innovative furniture designers can create new products that challenge traditional concepts of comfort, support, and aesthetic, by using inspiration from a hammock and creating minimalist designs that incorporate tensile fabric. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate minimalist rocking chairs into modern and/or compact homes, providing a contemporary and comfortable seating solution for consumers. - **Home Decor:** Innovative home decor companies can incorporate tensile fabric and minimalist design elements to create contemporary and airy products that appeal to consumers looking for modern and relaxing furniture solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Naturalistic Rattan Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ziihome-teng.md) - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md) - [Fishing-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akos-huber.md)
