Not overly complicated in its design, the Zest Chair demonstrates that balance can easily be achieved between form and function. Designed by Nancy Chu, the Zest Chair features a [peeling effect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruffini) that shows off a pop of color, making it very zesty indeed. By exploring [hard folds and soft curves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kartela), this chair demonstrates a sense of supportive rigidity that is tempered by an underbelly of flexibility. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Peeling Design:** Designs with a 'peeling effect' that incorporates elements of rigidity and flexibility. - **Curved Furniture:** Furniture designs that balance hard folds with soft curves. - **Pop of Color:** Designs that incorporate a striking pop of color to add personality and character. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Innovative techniques to create furniture with both rigid and flexible functionality. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating furniture with unique designs and color accents into interior spaces. - **Home Decor:** Creating a personalized and unique look in homes with furniture and decor that has a pop of color and unique design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sea Creature-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seat-urchin.md) - [Kinetic Shell Contemporary Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeph-side-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Hard-Sided Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeph-chair.md) - [Mid-Century Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeph-chair-1.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Kinetic Shell Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeph.md) - [Quirky Postmodern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ebba-armchair.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md)
