# Alien Bouncy Seats The Zenergy Ball Chair Lets You Play as You Work By Nikki Taylor | Published 2012-09-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenergy-ball-chair References: [materialicious](http://www.materialicious.com/2012/09/zenergytm.html) & [safcoproducts](http://www.safcoproducts.com/saf/en/US/adirect/safco?cmd=OnlineOrderingPageDataDisplay) The Zenergy ball chair will give you a comfy place to sit and do your daily workout. The seat uses an exercise ball that is covered in colored mesh as the cushion. The concept behind the oddly shaped furniture is to help improve an individual's work experience and posture by making a chair they can play on. You are able to bounce and wiggle on the seat, which keeps your mind and your body active while you are in the office pounding away at your keyboard or doing homework. The bouncy ball cushion is placed on four silver chrome legs for stability. When actually sitting on the Zenergy ball chair, it resembles a blobbed alien that you would likely find in a game of Pac-Man. It comes with a pump to top off your seat when the ball starts to inflate. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Workout Seating:** Seating that incorporates exercise equipment or movement for a more active work experience. - **Playful Office Furniture:** Furniture designed to add an element of playfulness to the traditionally rigid office environment. - **Ergonomic Innovation:** Developments in ergonomic design that prioritize movement and posture whilst seated. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture:** The Zenergy ball chair presents an opportunity for office furniture companies to innovate and create new products that prioritize fitness and movement during the workday. - **Home Office:** As remote work becomes more prevalent, there is an opportunity for companies to create home office furniture that prioritizes fitness and movement. - **Fitness Equipment:** There is potential for fitness equipment companies to expand their product lines and create exercise equipment that doubles as furniture to allow for a more active work experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Exercise-Friendly Gym Ball Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corefitball-pro.md) - [Ball-Topped Office Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaiam-highrise-balance-ball-stool.md) - [Fitness-Focused Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ezhula-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Shaped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-azbi-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Integrated Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/azbi-chair.md) - [Health-Focused Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-office-chair.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Active Motion Desk Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-ao-stool.md) - [Upright-Posture Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/active-gaming-seat.md)
