The Zen garden bench was designed by Francisco Lupin and features minimalist, naturalistic styling and a Corian body. The Zen garden bench has two lights and [two small seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-a-little-bit-further). For the longest time, benches and streetlights were designed to be independent of one another. There's a great chance that if you're looking for a [place to sit at night](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench), that it won't be near a streetlight. Designers such as Lupin are changing this, and the world will be a better place because of it. There are already enough things to dissuade people from going outdoors. The lack of light near [public seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench) shouldn't be one of them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Integrated Bench-lamp Design:** The trend of integrating benches and streetlights creates opportunities for designers to create multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor furniture. - **Minimalist Naturalistic Styling:** The trend towards minimalist and naturalistic styling in outdoor furniture design opens up opportunities for designers to create visually appealing and functional pieces. - **Enhanced Outdoor Lighting Solutions:** The trend of improving outdoor lighting near public seating areas presents opportunities for innovative lighting solutions that enhance safety and accessibility. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can capitalize on the trend of integrated bench-lamp designs by creating innovative and comfortable outdoor seating options that incorporate lighting features. - **Outdoor Lighting:** The outdoor lighting industry can leverage the trend of enhanced lighting solutions near public seating areas by developing innovative and energy-efficient lighting products. - **Urban Planning:** The urban planning industry can embrace the trend of integrated bench-lamp designs to create more inviting and well-lit public spaces that encourage outdoor socialization and relaxation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Japanese Gates-Inspired Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii-bench.md) - [Zen Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bonsai-desk-lamp.md) - [Urban Solar Charging Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perovia.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Cocoon-Inspired Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gandan-bench.md) - [Traffic Light-Inspired Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-light-bench.md) - [Modular Outdoor Space Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mass-public-bench.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md)
