# Suspended Neo-Retro Fireplaces Zelia 908 by JC Bordelet Would Fit Perfectly into a Vintage Chalet By Meghan Young | Published 2013-09-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zelia-908 References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006912.html) & [bordelet](http://www.bordelet.com/cheminees/zelia908centralecolor.htm) The Zelia 908 fireplace looks like something straight out of a [retro luxury chalet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bungalow-sintmartenslatem), one that would have been rented out by none-other-than the very suave James Bond. Think Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Of course, there is a bit of a futuristic flair in the sleekness of the Zelia 908's design, if not the glossy burnt orange color. Designed by JC Bordelet, a French fireplace designer, the Zelia 908 fireplace is made out of metal and glass. It is a [wood-burning fireplace](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-designs), which gives it even more of a vintage feel. [Suspended from the ceiling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-pendant-light), it strikes an imposing figure that would grab anyone's attention. Its round shape also calls for a central placement in rooms. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Neo-retro Aesthetics:** An opportunity for designers to combine retro and futuristic elements to create modern aesthetics. - **Suspended Design:** An opportunity for architects to explore the design potential of suspending furniture and appliances from ceilings. - **Wood-burning Revival:** An opportunity for manufacturers to explore the renewed interest in wood-burning appliances and create new designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** An opportunity for interior design businesses to adopt neo-retro aesthetics and explore suspended design. - **Architecture:** An opportunity for architects to incorporate suspended design into their building plans, creating unique visual experiences. - **Home Appliance Manufacturing:** An opportunity for manufacturers to create new wood-burning appliance designs that meet modern safety and efficiency standards. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Mixed-Material Tabletop Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brasscene-harmony-flame-fireplace.md) - [Portable Cylindrical Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecosmart-fire-pillar-3t.md) - [Eco-Friendly Bioethanol Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glammfire-contour.md) - [Cooking-Friendly Outdoor Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/regg-surprise.md) - [Mid-Century-Inspired Wood-Burning Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodburning-appliance.md) - [Bioethanol Fireplace Website Debuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-feu-fires.md) - [Unusual Fireplace Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorchanging-fireplace-color-cones.md) - [Ultra-Stylish Fireplace Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-accessories.md)
