The system lets users route PC-based VR games to their smartphones, which they can then connect to a significantly less expensive mobile VR headset. The Zeiss VR One Connect system is the product of a partnership between Zeiss and [Steam](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/razer-pc-remote-play), the online game marketplace. One Connect runs [SteamVR](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lynx-r1-mixed-reality-headset) games that play through PCs, but sends pre-rendered graphics to smartphones directly through a USB cord connected to the computer. This means that the computer does all the heavy lifting of processing while the phone merely provides a display. Since nearly every gamer is likely to have a smartphone already, the One Connect system is far more cost-efficient. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Affordable VR Gaming:** The Zeiss VR One Connect system presents an opportunity for disrupting the expensive VR gaming industry by making it more cost-efficient. - **Mobile-connected VR:** Smartphone-connected VR systems like the Zeiss VR One Connect could disrupt the VR market by making VR more accessible and easily portable on-the-go. - **Pc-to-mobile VR:** The trend of rendering PC-based VR to mobile devices like the Zeiss VR One Connect could disrupt the market by providing consumers a more convenient way of gaming and watching immersive content. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gaming:** The Zeiss VR One Connect system presents an opportunity to disrupt the expensive gaming industry by providing more affordable options for playing VR games. - **Mobile Devices:** The trend of VR systems connecting to mobile devices like the Zeiss VR One Connect presents an opportunity for companies in the mobile device industry to create VR-compatible devices and accessories. - **Entertainment:** The trend of rendering PC-based VR to mobile devices like the Zeiss VR One Connect presents an opportunity to disrupt the entertainment industry by providing consumers a more immersive and convenient way of watching movies and TV shows. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accessible PCVR Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pimax-crystal-light.md) - [Full-Body-Tracking VR Rigs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omni-one-core.md) - [Precision Visuals VR Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dpvr-e4-pc-vr-gaming-headset.md) - [Extended Reality Gaming Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virtue-one.md) - [Goggle-Shaped VR Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/htc-2.md) - [Fitness-Focused VR Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemvr.md) - [Onboard Computer VR Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simula-one-virtual-reality-headset.md) - [Compact Featherlight VR Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bigscreen-beyond-headset.md) - [Immersive Mobile Gaming Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/viture-x-8bitdo-ultimate-mobile-controller.md)
