# Pivoting Minimalist Lights The Za-Za Lamp Spins its Flat Shade to Give it More Dimension By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-02-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zaza-lamp References: [archidesignclub](http://www.archidesignclub.com/) & [numero111](http://www.numero111.com/?p=963) A light fixture can be as simple or as ornate as the designer desires, so long as it succeeds in supplying illumination. The Za-Za Lamp falls to the more basic side of the spectrum, but is certainly not lacking in charm. Crowned with a bright LED light, the beveled oak wood block acts as the base for the piece. It stands upright and has a lacquered screen fastened to it in an off-centered position. This unconventional lampshade is almost entirely flat, except for the slightly sloped edges on three sides. The rectangle has two corners that give it a softness and contribute a little visual variety. This part of the Numéro 111 Za-Za Lamp comes in gunmetal gray or white and it can be rotated to modify its form. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Rotating Lamp Shades:** Creating lamps with rotating lamp shades can provide customizable lighting options and visual variety. - **Minimalist Lighting:** Designing minimalist lights can offer a sleek and simplistic aesthetic for modern spaces. - **Off-centered Lamp Design:** Exploring off-centered lamp designs can add a unique touch and create visual interest. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can capitalize on the trend of creating rotating lamp shades to offer innovative and customizable lighting solutions. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can benefit from the minimalist lighting trend, incorporating sleek and simplistic lights to enhance modern spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore off-centered lamp designs to offer unique and visually interesting lighting options to customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Foldable Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Interactive Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Customizable Industrial Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-modular-lamp.md)
