The passport document is a significant factor in the lives of these people as it defines their identity and thus determines where they are able to travel to and where they will find closed borders and red tape. Lathigra explains, “in regards to refugees, people leave with their absolute basics and arrive in a camp, and have to get a [new ID document](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-digital-id). How much we rely upon that basic image of us in many ways, binds us across the world.” The [passport photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color) of individuals in the Zaatari Refugee Camp symbolize identity. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Passport-styled Photography:** Exploring new ways of capturing identity through passport-styled images. - **Documenting Displaced Communities:** Using photography to shed light on the lives of displaced individuals and their struggles. - **Identity and Travel Restrictions:** Examining the impact of passports on an individual's identity and their ability to travel. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to innovate by adopting the passport photography style for various projects. - **Refugee Support and Advocacy:** Addressing the challenges faced by displaced communities and promoting awareness through visual storytelling. - **Travel and Immigration:** Identifying opportunities to improve the processes and experiences related to passport documentation and travel restrictions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md) - [Document Photo Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passport-photoid.md) - [Ultraviolet Topographic Passports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switzerland-passport.md) - [Natural Landscape-Themed Passports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/government-of-canada.md) - [British Youth-Culture Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-and-away.md) - [Refugee-Informed Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-life-jackets-installation.md) - [Aviation-Centric Facial Imaging Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/facial-imaging-app.md) - [Humanized Waiting Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/de-wachtkamer.md) - [AI-Powered Portrait Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-powered-portrait-studio.md)
