# Hanging Fabric Chairs Yuri Kim Designs a Lightweight Seating Solution for Cramped Homes By Michael Hines | Published 2010-11-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuri-kim References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/hanging-chair-by-yuri-kim/) & [twenty5ive](http://www.twenty5ive.com/) If your apartment is in dire need of some [extra seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-chair), then you need to check out Yuri Kim's 'Hanging Chair.' The 'Hanging Chair' is a [simple fabric chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidahida) that can be easily mounted and stored when needed. Yuri Kim designed the 'Hanging Chair' to look like no other chair on the market. The [absence of legs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pere-chair) definitely helps set the chair apart in the looks department, but I'm afraid that this chair could and would be easily pulled from the wall. Check out Yuri Kim's design in the featured gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Lightweight Seating Solutions:** Opportunity to create innovative seating solutions that are lightweight and easily mountable for cramped spaces. - **Space-saving Furniture:** Opportunity to design furniture that can be mounted and stored when not in use to maximize space in small apartments. - **Unique Chair Designs:** Opportunity to create chairs with unconventional aesthetics that stand out in the market. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in developing and manufacturing lightweight, space-saving furniture for small living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Opportunities for interior designers to recommend and incorporate unique, space-saving chair designs into their projects. - **Home Décor Retail:** Opportunity for retailers to offer a variety of lightweight, mountable chair options that cater to consumers with limited living space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Cubic Featherlight Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/please-hold-up-chair.md) - [Simple Assembly Dining Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yugan.md) - [Floating Component Dining Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-top-chair.md) - [Draped Fabric-Clad Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidahida.md) - [Collaborative Drapey Upholstered Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidahida-chair.md) - [Pretzel-Like Comfortable Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dohui.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md)
