Whether forming geometric shapes and letters or taking on more abstract forms, her work occupies an ethereal realm of delicate details and whimsical thoughts. Using [pastel-colored triangle cutouts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-and-crease-extended), which Yuko Takada Keller says “symbolizes something like a molecule," her sculptures also have a modern aesthetic to them. Likening [tracing paper to skin membranes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu), Yuko Takada Keller explains that both reside between dream and reality in the unconscious. Hailing from Japan, Yuko Takada Keller has been living in Helsinge, Denmark, since 1997, a year after she began delving into the art of paper sculptures. It was a time when she hoped her "works would remind the viewer of something pure and natural in this world." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Abstract Paper Sculptures:** Opportunity for creating visually striking and unique sculptures using paper as a medium. - **Ethereal Artistic Creations:** Opportunity for artists to explore delicate and whimsical themes in their work. - **Modern Aesthetics in Paper Sculptures:** Opportunity to combine traditional paper-cutting techniques with contemporary design elements. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Artists can explore new techniques and materials to create innovative sculptures. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to incorporate ethereal and delicate art pieces into home design and decor. - **Event Planning and Decor:** Potential for using abstract paper sculptures as unique decorations for weddings, parties, and other events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Seasonal Interactive Fashion Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washi-paper.md) - [Kumiko Craft Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timevase.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Blooming Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kazuhiro-yamanaka-tsubomi-lamp.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md)
