# Finnish Winter Photography Yuichi Yokota Captured Finland's Stunning Snow-Covered Landscapes By Riley von Niessen | Published 2017-01-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuichi-yokota References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2017/01/16/captivating-pictures-from-finnish-winter/) & [yokoichi.photography](http://yokoichi.photography/) Yuichi Yokota, a photographer from Tokyo, Japan, traveled to Finland during the most frigid time of year to lens the Northern European nation's immaculate scenery. Throughout his time there, he explored areas that seemed to host little human interaction, with the snow that covered every surface largely uninterrupted. For other images, Yuichi Yokota focused on what life was like for those who called the snow haven home, with shots of a local Christmas market adding some holiday-themed diversity to his series of scenic shots. Perhaps most stunning however are his shots of his travels with sled logs and of the Northern Lights, which showcase nature at its very finest. With images like these in his repertoire, it's no surprise that Yuichi Yokota "won the Gold Prize of International Photography Awards in 2016." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Snow-covered Landscapes:** Opportunity to create immersive virtual reality experiences showcasing snow-covered landscapes. - **Local Christmas Markets:** Opportunity to develop unique online platforms for virtual Christmas markets, offering a global shopping experience. - **Northern Lights:** Opportunity to create innovative Northern Lights viewing experiences using augmented reality. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to develop AI-powered cameras that can capture the beauty of snow-covered landscapes with precision. - **Tourism:** Opportunity to develop customized winter tourism packages that offer immersive experiences in snow-covered destinations. - **Technology:** Opportunity to develop advanced imaging technologies that can replicate the mesmerizing beauty of the Northern Lights for virtual reality applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Travel Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour.md) - [Captivating Winter Travel Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-chinzanso-tokyo.md) - [Photographer-Approved Field Jackets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shackleton-x-leica-frank-hurley-field-jacket.md) - [Photography Project Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1.md) - [Winter Light Art Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nordic-lights.md) - [Metallic Jewelry-Inspired Store Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kalevala.md) - [Artful Wintry Fragrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glasshouse-fragrances-northern-peaks.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Juxtaposing Finnish Design-Themed Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-fant-caf.md)
