# Modern Mailbox-Inspired Lamps The 'You've Got Light' Lamp Looks Like a Retro Residential Maibox By M | Published 2013-06-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/youve-got-light References: [sixpointun](http://sixpointun.ca/portfolio/youve-got-light/) The 'You've Got Light' lamp takes inspiration from the cliché 'You've Got Mail' saying. Designed to look like a nostalgic suburban family mail box, the 'You've Got Light' lamp is a modern take on a traditional desk lamp. Made from sturdy white powder-coated gray steel and several bright LED lamps, this small lamp can really bright up a room. The 'You've Got Light' lamp shade is made from a carefully curved piece of steel that expertly directs the powerful LED lights softly downwards. With a [minimalist and clutter-free design structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp), this lamp would sit perfectly on an [office desk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/check-mate-2) or even on a hallway table. On the bottom of the lamp is a flat piece of steel that is convenient for holding cellphones, keys and small note pads. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Mailbox-inspired Design:** There is an opportunity for companies to incorporate mailbox-inspired design in various home decor products. - **Minimalist Design Structure:** There is an opportunity for companies to create minimalist desk lamps with functional features. - **LED Lighting Technology:** There is an opportunity for companies to incorporate energy-efficient LED lighting technology in home decor and office products. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can create unique and functional lamps with mailbox-inspired design elements, adding a personalized touch to the home. - **Office Products:** Office product companies can take inspiration from the minimalist design of the lamp to create sleek and functional desk lamps that incorporate LED technology. - **Lighting Technology:** The LED technology used in the lamp could be incorporated into a variety of lighting products, leading to energy-efficient and cost-saving solutions for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Friendly Task Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storage-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Streetlamp-Inspired Workstation Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herman-miller-ode-desk-lamp.md) - [Desk Organizer Lamp Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/engrid-desk-lamp.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md) - [Industrial Contemporary Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shop-light.md) - [Animation-Inspired LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animationinspired-led-lamp.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Metal-Encased Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-lamp.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md)
