Each [fantasy creature](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog) just oozes a surreal essence, making viewers feel as though they’re tapping into unexplored regions of their imagination by simply looking at these bizarre and adorable animals. Sure, some of their anatomy may seem familiar, with horns, scales, tentacles and wings evocative of real world wildlife, but when these elements are unexpectedly paired together, they form beings that are so otherworldly, they can only exist within dreams. Unsurprisingly, Yoalys Duran titled this [unique craft collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afterglow-1) ‘Deep Sleep.’ For those curious about Yoalys Duran’s process, she uses Sculpey modeling clay to build her creatures and then finishes off the detailing with acrylic paints before baking and glazing her work. She explains that all of her artistic endeavors are based upon things she encounters in dreams. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Dream-like Sculptures:** The dream-like quality of Yoalys Duran's sculptures taps into unexplored regions of imagination, presenting a disruptive innovation opportunity in the realm of surreal art. - **Fantasy Creature Crafting:** The unexpected pairing of familiar elements to form otherworldly creatures in Yoalys Duran's sculptures opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for creating unique and bizarre characters in various forms of entertainment media. - **Artistic Inspiration From Dreams:** Yoalys Duran's artistry inspired by dreams suggests a disruptive innovation opportunity in exploring the creative potential of dream-inspired artwork across different artistic mediums and experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sculpture Art:** The surreal and imaginative approach of Yoalys Duran's sculptures presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for pushing the boundaries of traditional sculpture art and introducing new concepts and techniques. - **Fine Arts Education:** Yoalys Duran's dream-like sculptures can serve as a disruptive innovation opportunity in fine arts education, encouraging students to explore unconventional artistic styles and draw inspiration from their dreams. - **Entertainment Industry:** The creation of bizarre and adorable fantasy creatures by Yoalys Duran opens up a disruptive innovation opportunity for the entertainment industry to incorporate dream-inspired characters into movies, video games, and merchandise, offering unique and captivating experiences to audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Climate-Awareness Soft Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamstones.md) - [Whimsical Spirit Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anima.md) - [Collaborative Sculptural Art Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neojomon-biomorphic-fantme.md)
