The app operates with more or less the same premise as the Yo messaging app, and it will let you know when a [restaurant table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/restaurant-reservation) or a [waiting room is ready](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waitlistpro1) for you by messing you a simple "Yo." While Yo Lineup is a free service, in order to use it, you must have the Yo app and an account set up in order to receive a notification. The app has been installed millions of times, which could be a cost-effective alternative to buzzers or pagers that are used in doctor's offices and eating establishments. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Simple Reservation Apps:** The trend in developing simple reservation apps will continue especially with the popularity of Yo Lineup. - **Queue Management Apps:** Queue management apps that use notifications for updates like Yo Lineup could disrupt the queue management industry. - **Alternative Notification Systems:** Apps like Yo Lineup could disrupt the use of buzzers and pagers in the restaurant and healthcare industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Restaurant:** The restaurant industry could benefit from adopting apps like Yo Lineup as an alternative notification system for customers waiting for a table. - **Healthcare:** The healthcare industry could benefit from adopting apps like Yo Lineup as an alternative notification system for patients waiting to see a doctor. - **Mobile App Development:** The trend in developing simple and novel apps like Yo Lineup could disrupt the mobile app development industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Real-Time Reservation Alerts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waitlistwizard.md) - [Digital Queue Management](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jointhequeue.md) - [Custom Waitlist Builders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waitlistpro.md) - [Restaurant Reservation App Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uber-eats-dine-out.md) - [Foodie Networking Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yourtable.md) - [Waitlist Infrastructure Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waitlistemail.md) - [Dining Organizer Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yumbox.md) - [Comprehensive Restaurant Overview Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toast-1.md) - [Multilingual Restaurant Reservation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tabelog-app.md)
