# Glass Modern Homes YH2 Geometric Architecture in the Canadian Laurentians By Jessica Marcel | Published 2009-10-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yh2-geometric-architecture References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/archives/012168.php) & [yh2architecture](http://www.yh2architecture.com/) Montreal-based YH2 architecture company created this home by combining [three geometric shapes with glass hallways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tranquil-abiding). The YH2 geometric architecture is described as a shipwreck, and there's no question as to why. The bold lines, raw styled materials and crude connection to the ground make it look as though this home crash landed in the hills (and then got a sleek modern clean up). This YH2 geometric architecture is modern and rustic at the same time. **Implications** - Its ability to combine fragments and linear designs is what helps this glass modern home attain its traditional yet contemporary feel. The use of [raw materials like rock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-house-on-a-hill) further helps the house reconnect with its natural surroundings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Geometric Architecture:** The YH2 geometric architecture combines geometric shapes with glass hallways, offering opportunities for innovative and unique building designs. - **Modern Rustic Style:** The combination of bold lines and raw materials in glass modern homes creates a modern rustic style, presenting opportunities for design elements that blend natural elements with modern aesthetics. - **Fragmented Design:** The ability to combine fragments and linear designs in glass modern homes allows for creative and customizable architectural solutions that break away from traditional building structures. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** The YH2 geometric architecture and modern rustic style trends provide opportunities for architects to create innovative and visually striking buildings for residential and commercial purposes. - **Construction:** The fragmented design trend in glass modern homes requires unique construction techniques and materials, opening up opportunities for construction companies to specialize in these types of projects. - **Interior Design:** The modern rustic style trend in glass modern homes presents opportunities for interior designers to create cohesive and visually appealing spaces that blend natural and contemporary elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Mountainous Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountainous-home.md) - [Landscape-Honoring Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-forges-residence.md) - [Discrete Lakeside Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palissade.md) - [Geometric African Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/great-primary-shapes.md) - [Modern Concrete Hayfield Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/759-house.md) - [Apple Tree-Surrounding Glass Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acdf.md) - [Precisely Designed Toronto Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-point.md) - [Geometric Structural Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c-house.md) - [Nature-Merging Geometric Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neville-park-residence.md)
