Although a factory worker for most of her adult life, she developed a personal knack for artistic expression amid her Latvian settings. Kilupe's exceptional work was noticed during one of her sales at a marketplace in Latgale. An art gallery representative immediately brought her on, displaying her [detailed disguises](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) to crowds in Riga, the country's capital. The depictions of cats, pigs and human faces are markedly realistic, a feature that comes with Kilupe's lengthy study of nature. Handmade qualities, among them long jagged paint strokes, make her pieces all the more valuable for [art collectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition) in search of heartfelt creations. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Realistic Handmade Art:** Opportunity for artists to create highly detailed and personalized handmade artwork that appeals to collectors looking for unique and heartfelt creations. - **Nature-inspired Artistic Expression:** Opportunity for artists to explore and capture the beauty of nature in their artwork, appealing to audiences who appreciate the intricacies of the natural world. - **Artistic Talent Discovery:** Opportunity for art galleries and representatives to discover and promote talented artists with unique artistic expressions, providing them with opportunities for recognition and financial success. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Collecting:** Opportunity for art collectors to invest in and support the creation of handcrafted and nature-inspired artwork that holds both aesthetic and emotional value. - **Art Galleries:** Opportunity for art galleries to showcase and represent talented artists who create realistic, nature-inspired artwork, attracting art enthusiasts seeking unique and meaningful pieces. - **Art Education:** Opportunity for art schools and educational institutions to provide training and resources for artists interested in developing their skills in realistic and nature-inspired artistic expression. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Block Puzzle Carnival Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masquerade-mask-1.md) - [Mask-Made Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidal-stories.md) - [Emotive Inflatable Masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lian-mask.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Artist-Edition Jigsaw Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistedition-jigsaw-puzzles.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md)
