# Robotic Swordsman Videos This Yaskawa Stunt Pits a Robot Against a Capable Swordsman By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2015-09-16 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yaskawa References: [digitalbuzzblog](http://www.digitalbuzzblog.com/the-robot-master-swordsman-experiment/) & [youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3XyDLbaUmU) There are some incredible tasks that robots of today are able to execute, as [Yaskawa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dishwashing-robot) proves with its 'YASKAWA BUSHIDO PROJECT' video. Rather than simply showing off the prowess of its machines on their own, the company decided to show how closely the high-tech MOTOMAN-MH24 robot can mimic the movements of a master swordsman. In the video, the swordsman demonstrates a series of cuts with a sword that the robot is able to execute with exact precision. Naturally, the allure of a robot vs. swordsman challenge quickly turned Yaskawa's content into a viral sensation on [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hmnd-01). In the event that robots do eventually take over the world, hopefully they will not be as masterful as the one in this Yaskawa video. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Robotic Mimicry:** The rise of robots that can closely mimic human movements and actions. - **Robotics in Entertainment:** The growing trend of incorporating robots into entertainment and media productions. - **Human-robot Challenges:** The emergence of challenges and competitions between humans and robots in various fields. ### Where This Applies - **Manufacturing:** The use of robots in manufacturing processes to improve precision and efficiency. - **Film and Television:** The integration of robots into film and television productions to enhance visual effects and action sequences. - **Sports and Gaming:** The development of human-robot challenges in sports and gaming industries to create unique and exciting experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Humanoid Robot Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/great-robot-olympics.md) - [Innovative Robotic Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/engineai-robotics.md) - [Dynamic Task Support Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muks-robotics-spaceo.md) - [Wearable Robotic Limb Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jizai-arms.md) - [AI-Enabled Walking Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimus-robot.md) - [Multi-Tasking Garden Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/master-x-vison.md) - [Tea-Making Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teamaking-robots.md) - [Self-Balancing Stealthy Motorbikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motoroid.md) - [Forest-Fostering Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dualarm-robot.md)
