# Crisply Contrasting Prints This Yan Nascimbene Artwork is Well Composed and Serene By Josh Triantafilou | Published 2012-04-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yan-nascimbene References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Travel/2919733) & [yannascimbene](http://www.yannascimbene.com/) France-based artist Yan Nascimbene has an eye for high-color contrasts and crisp drawing judging by his recent series titled, 'Travel.' The paintings are in many ways reminiscent of Japanese Edo period painting, especially Hokusai. As alluded to, Nascimbene employs vividly defined lines and colors that contrast well with one another yet do not clash. This produces a sense of overall harmony within each piece, which is not an easy task to achieve for many artists. Many of the works in the series incorporate a definite degree of symmetry. Trees, mountains and people are arranged in such a way that the paintings tend to focus along the center vertical axis of the frame. This lends a serene quality to the landscapes Nascimbene portrays. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **High-color Contrasts:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the art industry by reinventing traditional painting techniques with bold color contrasts. - **Crisp Drawing:** Potential for disruptive innovation in the art industry by exploring new digital tools and techniques for achieving precise and clean lines. - **Symmetry in Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the art industry by challenging traditional notions of composition and experimenting with symmetrical arrangements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the art industry by incorporating high-color contrasts and crisp drawing techniques into traditional and digital artworks. - **Design:** Potential for disruptive innovation in the design industry by applying the concept of high-color contrasts, crisp drawing, and symmetry in various visual compositions. - **Digital Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the digital technology industry by developing new software or tools that facilitate the creation of artworks with high-color contrasts, crisp drawing, and symmetrical arrangements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md) - [Luxurious Ephemeral Art Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sho-shibuya.md) - [Concept-Driven Retail Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miya-ando-x-saint-laurent.md) - [Human Nature-Themed Art Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-im-awake.md) - [Kyoto-Inspired Solo Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ode-to-kyoto.md) - [Collaborative Sculptural Art Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neojomon-biomorphic-fantme.md) - [Travel Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour.md) - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md)
