The stool features a [metallic base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-stool-1) that supports the upper section, which puts a series of [PolyCrystalline solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sula) in the spotlight. These would work diligently to capture energy from the surrounding environment when exposed to UV rays, while the durable construction of each cell supports being sat on like a traditional stool. Chae commented on the yA-18 STOOL saying, 'It is an object that represents existence like a sculpture in living space, in which the carved top is arranged like a reflective plate of a radar to form a vanishing point."
