Arie van’t Riet is a radiation physicist who also moonlights as an artist, using his knowledge and background he creates these gorgeous [colored X-ray photographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-xray-unit) of nature.

Arie van’t Riet starts out with a traditional black and white X-ray which he then digitizes and [adds colors to in Photoshop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/color-olo). The results are these incredible pictures of nature as you've never seen. The choice to add colors to certain parts of the X-ray helps to make certain scenes pop and helps to underscore the beautiful interplay between science and nature that occurs in these X-ray photographs.

Arie van’t Riet prefers to X-ray objects of ordinary scenes and attempts to X-ray and color the photograph in manner that "represents the sentiment of the scene...to raise questions and excite curiosity" I believe looking at these X-ray photographs it's apparent he succeeded.
