# Full Lens-Equipped Smartphones Xiaomi's Concept Phone Adds a Full-Size Leica Lens on a Smartphone By Kanesa D | Published 2022-11-02 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-2 References: [theverge](https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/2/23436401/xiaomi-12s-ultra-leica-m-series-camera-lens-concept) & [mi](https://www.mi.com/global/) [Xiaomi's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-modular-optical-system) new concept phone comes with a new feature that allows consumers to attach a full-size Leica camera lens to the back of the ‘[12S Ultra](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-12s-series).’ Xiaomi demonstrates how the idea is made to work with Leica [M-series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leica-cameras) lenses. In contrast to the software-based backdrop blurring techniques available in most smartphones, the firm claims that upgrading to a full-size camera lens transforms the smartphone into a "professional photo-making tool," with advantages like "authentic depth of focus." According to Xiaomi, the concept phone will support 10-bit RAW photography and use its AI Image Solution to analyze images. Focus peaking, zebra lines, and a histogram are just a few of the software capabilities that the attachable lens would offer alongside its camera app. The brand currently has yet to plan to mass-produce the new lens for wider use, as it often lets concept devices remain as concepts.
