Inspired by the 'Build the Starship Enterprise from useless office supplies' Instructables post, the X-Wing Fighter is very simialr. Using a Sharpie, four [pen lids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pen-creator-studio), butterfly clips, a pencil sharpener, strip of staples, glue, medium and large binder clips as well as a memory card, the creator can easily kill some time at work by constructing this super cool sci-fi fighter. Coworkers and peers will be jealous of your easily constructed X-Wing Fighter jet that even Luke Skywalker would want to ride in. Instructables has yet again managed to offer a simple DIY project and provide an absolutely perfect way for you to demonstrate your immense appreciation for the [Star Wars franchise](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbuilt-star-wars-logo). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Office-supply DIY:** Creating sci-fi crafts by repurposing office supplies can appeal to a growing community of DIY enthusiasts. - **Upcycling Hacks:** There's an opportunity for entrepreneurs to offer DIY hacks that show consumers how to creatively repurpose common, everyday office items and help them reduce waste. - **Fan-inspired Crafts:** Fan-made crafts can tap into a loyal base of enthusiasts and create new revenue streams for companies that host forums and communities centered around specific genres or fandoms. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Supplies:** Companies that produce office supplies can market their products as versatile building materials for fans and DIYers alike. - **E-commerce:** Online retailers can target DIYers and sci-fi enthusiasts with curated collections of office items, packaging, and other materials that are typically disposed of, but can be upcycled into art. - **Social Media:** Social networks can help enthusiasts connect with peers and discover new ways of upcycling everyday objects into creative and personalized works of art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi Spacecraft LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scifi-spacecraft-lego-set.md) - [Aerospace-Inspired Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novium-edge-and-shuttleport.md) - [Superhero-Themed Block Pen Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-lord-helmet.md) - [Millennium Falcon Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-tray.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Desktop Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-orbitkey-desk-mat.md) - [Festive Sci-Fi Building Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingerbread-atat-walker.md) - [Cardboard Airplane Builds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-airplane.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Cruiser Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venator-attack.md) - [Subtly Sci-Fi Watch Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-x-citizen-rebel-starfighter-boxed-set.md)
