# Marvel Infant Mutants X-Babies Shows the Adorable Side of the Tough X-Men Crew By Matt Ho | Published 2011-06-20 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/x-babies References: [blog.thaeger](http://blog.thaeger.com/2011/06/20/x-babies/) & [skottiescott](http://www.skottiescott.com/) Ever wondered if Wolverine was an adorable kid before he was a cigar-smoking, trash-talking, ass-kicking X-Man? Neither did I until Skottie Young's X-Babies series. The X-Babies series has Young reinterpreting the heroes of X-Men as infants. Hard to believe that some of them can look cute considering their often intense, angry looks, but the artist has done an amazing job. Instead of the fearless leader Cyclops, it's a happy child looking out curiously from the crib. Nightcrawler is dangling with a smile on his face like any other kid on the jungle gym. This is definitely a side of the characters that's rarely seen in [Marvel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xmen-97-fireside) comics. So far, [villains Magneto and Deadpool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-heroes-vs-villains) (well, at times he's bad) have been put in diapers. I think it's time Mr. Sinister and Sabertooth get the same treatment. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Adorable Superhero Babies:** Creating cute versions of tough superhero characters presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the toy and collectibles industry. - **Reimagining Comic Book Icons:** Offering fresh and playful interpretations of well-known superheroes opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the entertainment and merchandise industries. - **Exploring New Perspectives:** Portraying iconic characters from a different angle, such as as infants, presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the comic book and graphic novel industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Toy and Collectibles:** The trend of creating adorable superhero babies opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the toy and collectibles industry. - **Entertainment:** The trend of reimagining comic book icons presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the entertainment industry. - **Comic Book and Graphic Novel:** Exploring new perspectives in depicting iconic characters, such as as infants, presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in the comic book and graphic novel industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Superhero-Inspired Virtual Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xmen-97-fireside.md) - [Comic-Inspired Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xmen-97-xbox.md) - [Superhero Headquarter Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xmansion.md) - [Collectible Cosplay Condiments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heinz-ketchup-and-mustard.md) - [Superhero-Themed Hospital Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sickkids-foundation-ad.md) - [Superhero-Inspired Popcorn Buckets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deadpool-wolverine1.md) - [Comic Book Hero Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comic-book-heros.md) - [Cinematic QSR Burger Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burger-king-best-bubs-burgers.md) - [Anithero Collectible Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cnc-and-heineken-collectibles.md)
