# Vibrating Wrestling Toys Box Sumo's Collectible Characters Try to Push Each Other Out of the Ring By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2019-05-24 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wrestling-toys References: [prnewswire](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/step-into-the-arena-with-hexbug-to-consume-create-and-collect-with-the-launch-of-their-quirky-new-brand--box-sumo-300855614.html) & [hexbug](https://www.hexbug.com/boxsumo-ring.html) Hexbug's Box Sumo puts a new spin on wrestling toys with vibration technology that pushes an opponent's character outside of the ring. The box-shaped collectible toys come in many different personas, including Savage Saint Nick, Reaping Reggie and Mighty Mildred, each of which is ready to fight with its fists out. The vibration-powered Box Sumo characters can be placed within the Hexbug Box Sumo Battle Ring, which also neatly folds up and holds the collapsible characters when they are not in use. Kids who are inspired to create their own crazy characters can even do so by getting the tools from the Hexbug site for printing their very own Box Sumo and powering them up using a "nano bug," batteries and a detachable base component. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Vibrating Toys:** Vibration technology in Box Sumo wrestling toys has disruptive innovation opportunities for the toy manufacturing industry. - **Collectible Characters:** Collectible characters in Box Sumo wrestling toys have disruptive innovation opportunities for the collectibles industry. - **Customizable Toys:** The ability to create one's own Box Sumo character with a detachable base and the tools from the Hexbug site has disruptive innovation opportunities for the 3D printing industry. ### Where This Applies - **Toy Manufacturing:** Vibration technology in Box Sumo wrestling toys has disruptive innovation opportunities for the toy manufacturing industry. - **Collectibles:** Collectible characters in Box Sumo wrestling toys have disruptive innovation opportunities for the collectibles industry. - **3D Printing:** The ability to create one's own Box Sumo character with a detachable base and the tools from the Hexbug site has disruptive innovation opportunities for the 3D printing industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Motion Control Combat Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ganker-ex-pro.md) - [Proactively Challenging Boxing Trainers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boxing-trainers.md) - [Wind-Up Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/windupz.md) - [Interactive Monster Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smashers-horror-house.md) - [Beatboxing Robot Dogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dj-beat-boxer.md) - [AI-Powered Boxing Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bhout-bag.md) - [Digital Collectible Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-figure-box.md) - [Screen-Free Toy Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luki-lab.md) - [Pump-Up Plush Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-biggies.md)
