The former mark stood at 533 but when 582 participants gathered at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to play a 5-minute piece together, the record was broken. Guinness Book of Records sanctioned the entire event which had an underlying message of raising awareness (and some funds) for Multiple Sclerosis. The total amount raised was £20,000.
